Sustainability
At McConnell Property sustainability is not just about being green. By acting in a sustainable way we are, with our partners, delivering projects that use less energy and produce less waste. They are healthier, safer places to live and work, will last longer and become more valuable over time.
As founding signatories to the Urban Design Protocol and members of the Green Building Council, sustainability is part of the McConnell Property culture and the way we work. Our sustainability approach for each project is unique, not an afterthought.
McConnell Property is constantly looking to incorporate sustainability initiatives across all of its projects through the implementation of a sustainability framework which focuses on four key areas:
- Urban design leadership
- Respecting the environment
- Places for people
- Good business
All of the buildings at Ascot Parade will be a minimum four star green rated. This is achieved through:
- efficient use of energy
- more natural light
- energy efficient air conditioning
- onsite storm water treatment and disposal
- low-flow showers and tapware
- using products with a high recycled content
- low VOC materials
- where possible supplying a recycling point to encourage everyone to recycle.
